Anna
Anna has been a cat lover for as long as she can remember; always having a cat by her side through every stage of life.
Her passion for cats and animals started as a young girl when she cared for many strays on the property she grew up on in Surprise, AZ. She often wondered how she could help prevent overpopulation and the development of large stray cat colonies. In her early teens, she discovered veterinary medicine was a career option and was initially interested in researching a cost effective alternative to spay and neuter cats.
However, life had a different plan for her when she found another passion of hers- coffee. After working in corporate coffee for a combined seven years, Anna started developing a love for creating unique beverages, connecting with her coworkers and community, as well as serving customers quality drinks.
Anna then began working in the veterinary field as an emergency veterinary assistant in January of 2020. This career change allowed her to gain knowledge in the medical treatment of cats, as well as witness common illnesses that can develop in them.
Even though her career in veterinary medicine has been rewarding, she decided she wanted to create something that fused her passions of cats and coffee and in 2021 she founded Ash’s Place LLC; a place where she can help cats find loving homes while also serving her community unique, quality beverages.
Ash
Anna came to know Ash after he was discovered in a car engine in June of 2013 in Pennsylvania. He was around eight weeks old when he was found by one of Anna’s family members. Luckily, she was moving to the area a few weeks later and gladly took over responsibility for him. They relocated back home to Arizona in 2014 and currently reside in Mesa, AZ.
Ash is an affectionate, gray domestic shorthair cat that enjoys pets and attention; however, he will not demand it.. unless his food bowl is empty or he wants treats (he’s annoyingly food motivated.) Cat personalities are incredibly diverse and Ash is no exception to the rule. Often, he can be found scouting out new napping spots whether it be a cabinet, laundry basket, cardboard box, or a portal to a new dimension that he can only exit if treats are shaken. Overall, Ash can be manipulative to get what he wants but not one person that's met him, from friends to veterinary staff, has any complaints. He’s just one cool cat!
